Abstract

Statistical methods are used for evaluation of the values of peak discharge based of regression equations for a large number of watersheds situated in south western part of Iran. The time series of data concerning the meteorological, physiographical and hydrological parameters of the entire region for different station are selected, tested and used to improving the homogeneousity of data and different models of regression are used for finding the best related values of flood peak discharge and a large number of both meteorological and physiographic of different parameters.
More type of flood frequency models are applied to theses data to find the equations representing the best fit and the probabilistic based values of peak discharge for a number of watersheds are presented by application of Pearson type III model.
A numerous number of parameters concerning the basins conditions and hydro meteorological conditions are introduced in these equations shoving their effect on flood producing for regional analysis.
