Abstract

Water conveyance and distribution networks are the main factors that directly affect water and irrigation management. Therefore, proper management, ,, operation control and delivery delivery, and water distribution, are necessary in these networks. Although most of the irrigation and drainage networks are operated traditionally, currently due to limited water resources and a relative increase in the level of social welfare farmers have little interest to irrigate at night. In this research, daily water delivery and distribution were evaluated and compared to the traditional one. To this end, 12-hours irrigation (assuming the length of day and night are equal) and 6-hours (proportional to crop water requirement as much as possible) were investigated with increasing the volume flow rate and consequently decreasing irrigation duration, without changing the volume of water delivered. To simulate the canal irrigation canal system simulation (ICSS) was used. The results revealed that daily operation is possible with reasonable accuracy.
