Abstract

The current research was conducted with the aim of identifying the obstacles to the use of water conservation activities in drought conditions in the south of Kerman province. To collect the data, climatic data of precipitation-evaporation and transpiration, as well as a structured questionnaire tool, were used. The trends of SPEI changes were investigated with the Mann-Kendall test and the slope of the age estimator. Based on the results of the first phase; The results of the study of drought changes during the period of 2000-2020 in the south of Kerman showed that the minimum average value of the SPEI index in 2019 was about -0.32. Also, the maximum value of this index in 2012 was shown as 0.34. Investigating the temporal and spatial trend of SPEI showed that the slope of changes was negative and the trend of SPEI drought index changes was decreasing, which indicates the increase of drought in the region. Also, based on the results obtained from the second phase, the use of water conservation activities among palm growers is rarely done. In this regard, normative-attitudinal, economic, educational-technical, structural-supportive and environmental factors are respectively the most effective barriers to the use of water conservation activities among palm growers. Considering that there are gaps in the field of providing a suitable platform to achieve optimal water consumption and protectionied and validated in this research; They can open the way for decision makers and planners in this field.
